For My Loved Ones

I stood by your bed last night;
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep.
I spoke to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
'It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here.'
I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached to me.
I was with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I flew with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently landed on you; I smiled and said, 'it's me.'
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, 'I never went away.'
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say 'good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning.'
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll fly across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...
then come home to be with me. (By Anon)

Footprints

One night a man had a dream.

He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Scenes from his life flashed across the sky
and he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life had flashed before him,
he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life
there was only one set of footprints.

Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most,
you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child.
I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering
when you saw only one set of footprints...

That was when I carried you."

Two pennville residents were killed in a rural Bryant woman was injured Tuesday in the county's first fatal vehicle accident this year.

Petty was transporter to Jay County Hopsital by Jay Emergency Medical Service and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Both weere ejected from the vehicle. Neither Petty nor Caldwell were wearing a seat belt. Barnett said it appears both died from massive internal injuries.Police said Petty was driving south on U.S. 27 and Jones was driving north Petty apparently lost control of the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier she was driving as she maneuvered around a curve. The car slid sideways across the centerline and the passenger side was struck by a 1995 Pontiact Grand Prix driven by Jones. Both vehicles went off the east side of the road and came to rest in a ditch. There were no witnesses to the accident police said. It appears alcohol and excessive speed were not contributing factors in the accident. Combined damage to the chevrolet and the Pontiac was estimated at $5,000 to$10,000.
